Remember What Jedi Master Yoda Said to Luke?

Have you ever said something like this “I’ll try my best” or “I’ll give it a shot”?

Do you see the problem with those sentences?

The problem is the mindset of trying, which means no commitment. And, no commitment, no possibility.

Imagine this for a minute… you are on an airplane, coming in to land, the pilot announces: "Ladies and gentlemen, we are coming in to Vancouver International Airport. Shortly I will try to land this plane". Holly! How would you feel? Would you be tightening your seat belt and saying your prayers? I certainly would!

Now, imagine a young man proposing to his girlfriend, he says: “honey, would you marry me? Let’s try this marriage thing, and see how it goes?” Gosh! That’s horrible, isn’t it?

If you want something badly, you make your commitment, and just do it! Jedi Master Yoda said it perfectly in the Star Wars movie: “Luke, you either do, or do not. There is no try”.

Try does not mean anything other than “I think I might fail, so I better put in a disclaimer so I don’t look too confident in myself and people think I am stupid if I do fail”.

Don’t sabotage yourself or even set yourself up for failure with the wrong mindset. Just remember what Jedi Master Yoda said “do, or do not, there is no try”!
